Common Nissan gearbox problems
Recognise the early warning signs. We stock replacement parts (and complete boxes) for all of these.
Hard shifting
Worn synchros, low fluid, or a tired clutch. Common on high-mileage TD27 and KA24 Hardbody manuals.
CVT slipping
Qashqai and X-Trail CVTs (Jatco JF011/JF016) often show slip and judder around 150 000 km. Replacement boxes available.
Auto box limp mode
Solenoid faults or valve-body wear on VQ-series Maxima/Murano autos. Whole-box replacement is usually cheapest.
Bearing whine
Whine that changes with gear selection points to input/output-shaft bearings. We supply tested replacement boxes.
