The Nissan Juke is a sub-compact crossover sold here in two generations — the F15 (2010-2019), styled with the headlight-on-bonnet, frog-faced look that made it instantly recognisable, and the F16 (2019-present), which moved onto the Renault-Nissan CMF-B platform shared with the Clio V and Captur. The F15 in South Africa was offered with the HR16DE 1.6-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol (around 86 kW), the MR16DDT 1.6 DIG-T turbo petrol (around 140 kW, also used in the Juke Nismo and the Renault Clio RS) and a K9K 1.5 dCi turbodiesel option. Most F15s ran with either a 5-/6-speed manual or the Jatco JF015E/JF016E CVT. The F16 ships with the HRA2 1.0L DIG-T three-cylinder turbo (around 86 kW) paired to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT. Common issues include CVT shudder and premature failure on the F15, timing chain stretch on the MR16DDT, turbo wastegate rattle on the 1.0 DIG-T, and rear wheel-bearing noise.
